Default Unable to use network card?

Hello,
I have a weird situation: I installed a dwl520+ pci card on a windows 98SE
machine. The card installed properly. I was able to use the utility to make
the card talk to my wireless router. I have a good link and signal. The
problem is that the pc does not use the card at all. When I type winipcfg,
it gives me an error that it is unable to read the ip information. (If I use
a regular ethernet card, I am able to connect via a cable). In the network
properties, I have tcp/ip and I also have the binding between the card and
tcp/ip. How can I resolve this? The card installs well but not used?

Thank you for your time and help.

Do you have the TCP/IP properties to get the IP address automatically,
or is it set manually? If manually, the IP and subnet mask must be set
to match the router's LAN.

I do have TCP/IP properties. Even if the settings are ok, they winipcfg
should be able to read the ip settings and give you a blank where no
info is avaialable. What I have is just wierd.

Thank you,

Amer
