Default Windows files for FTP

John

AFAIK they must have TCP/IP installed in the OS.
If they can access the internet from their box then the shouldn't need anything
extra..

Steve,

I know that the users won't need anything extra (from me).
Teh problem is that I'm having problems with a FTP and HTTP connection
on my own PC.
It might be FireFox that replaced some Windows files.
For instance: WinInet is changed.

I was wondering which files VO needs to get it's FTP and HTTP possibilities.

John

If you can upload or download using ftp or http outside of VO then the problem
may be VO accessing the DLLs.

If not then you might have a sick machine.

That could have happened in a windows (security) update??

Did you check for any changed functions in the DLL (_DLL prototypes)??

Which OS??
Did you turn off the firewall - in XP SP2 (assuming your using XP)??

Steve,

The FTP/HTTP connection to a server worked fine up until a moment when
it didn't anymore.
There was no change in my app (and it has all rights to pass the
firewall) so it must be the server or something else (eg wininet.dll).
Wininet.dll seems fine so I'll look into my app again and see if I can
find anything or test on a different machine.
