Kinda stupid question someone asked me earlier.. (wise able life atheist theist)
There are no stupid questions when one is reaching to learn.
A *theist* is one who has (or believes in) a personal God. The letter *a*
used before a base noun indicates *without*. So the atheist is simply
someone without a personal God. It doesn't mean a non-spiritual person.
To pretend we have answers or, worse yet, *the* answer is hypocrisy. It's
all a mystery, and none of us know. We do know *it's* bigger than we, so we
must be humble before it.
Oh, Great Mystery, whose voice I hear in the winds, and whose breath gives
life to all the world - hear me - I come before you, one of your children.
I am small and weak. I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in
beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. Make me
wise, so that I may know the things you have taught my People, the lesson
you have hidden in every leaf and rock. I seek strength not to be superior
to my brothers, but to be able to fight my greatest enemy, myself. Make me
ever ready to come to you, with clean hands and straight eyes, so when life
fades as a fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame.
(paraphrasing Sioux Chief Yellow Hawk; he said *Great Spirit*)
