U.S. subsidy of Indonesian Muslim schools (friend numbers beliefs muslim dynamics)

Subject: from a friend in Brisbane
The US has offered Indonesia $157 million aid for state-owned (muslim
controled) schools, and for the Fundamentalist Muslim boarding schools.
Along with the basic ignorance of much of the dynamics of SE Asia, this US
action is to the complete neglect of the millions of Christians and their
schools who will be further disadvataged. Take the official government
statisics of Christians in Indonesia and just about double it. That will
give you the real numbers. OK, lets have the US and Australia boost
Education in Indonesia, but what about the Christians too! Finally, the
anti-american leaders in Indonesia will end up hating the US even more for
the arrogance of thinking thier beliefs can be bought. Soon Australia will
be putting aid money into the pot. Do our leaders know the implications?

I would suspect that the Americans will want a say in the curriculum.
You Christian fundies (wonna be missionaries) need to understand that
Indonesia is essentially a Moslem nation with rather backward ideals. If you
intend establishing you Christian religious enclaves within such a backdrop
then cop the flak dude!
