And there's nothing wrong with the missionaries being interested in
bringing about your conversion, you just need to understand that. Also, as a practical matter, LDS missionaries tend to be 19-20 year olds with little experience, little education, and rather scanty knowledge of LDS doctrine. As a result, there are limits on what answers they can give you. There's nothing wrong with getting both sides of any question. That's just common sense. If the LDS Church is truly God's One True Church, it has nothing to fear from honest investigation and rigorous examination. Conversely, if any church fears and opposes honest investigation and rigorous examination, perhaps it has something to hide and cannot stand honest investigation and rigorous examination. So that would be all the more reason to examine both sides of the argument. As far as argument and malcontent on this newsgroup are concerned, I must say that after three or so years as a regular participant, I've seen lots of interesting and worthwhile argument between true believers and between critics, and very little discourse I'd consider malcontent. Because both sides of the argument are presented here, and because most of this newsgroup's moderators are true believing LDS, I'd say this is a very good forum in which to truly learn about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
