Default Boy's 'exorcism' death ruled homicide (exorcism death case)

hotmail.com>

How could the parents stand by while their child struggled to live and do nothing?!!!

I think they did a story on CSI about that case - quite a few of the
episodes seem to be based on true cases!

Default Boy's 'exorcism' death ruled homicide (exorcism death crucifix friend faith)

Cursuswalker <cursuswalker SPAMMERS BLOW GOATS @ I HAVE PROOF hotmail.com>

I read this story on the BBC website yesterday - brought back horrible
memories.
I have epilepsy, and when I was younger it was quite severe. A friend of my
Auntie claimed to be a christian faith healer, and wanted to "cure" me. My
parents were not up for this, but when I stayed with my Auntie, her friend
attempted to rid me of my epilepsy. At eight years old it was an unpleasant
experience and very frightening. Thanks to me crying and bawling at the top
of my lungs he gave up trying. Instead I was sent home with a copy of the
Bible (told to read it) and a crucifix.
I know this is nothing to what that poor boy must have suffered. It is so
sad to read about such ignorance.

((((Mouse))))

It must be so simple to know such illness is a moral failing and that your
righteousness can cure anything.

Like I said.....where lies the danger?
Not with us that's for sure.

Righteousness cures nothing, as I, at least, have been wont to say loudly -
and not just to Christians.

The danger lies *wherever* people assume that they are more powerful,
important, etc., than anyone else and that their ideas are more important
that the good of others.

Last time I looked, no one group had a monopoly on that.

But for us one group is far more of a danger than many others.
Which is why it's so ironic when members of that group carry out one on the
very acts they accuse us of (Can you say child sacrifice?)

I can... but I don't see irony in the suffering a child and I couldn't care
less which faith people use as an excuse.

I do see irony in it, in spite of the tragedy involved.
Tragedy does not preclude observation based upon that tragedy surely?
Neither does it necessarily lessen ones appreciation of the tragic nature of
an event.
Your response seems to indicate you feel it always does.

As for the specific faith...........well it's one some members of which
would like to make out Pagans are harmful to children, so it has particular
relevance, and poignancy, for me.
