Conscience is clear (clear grace law rules court)
May I please share a brief thought? Let's read
1 Corinthians 4:3-4, "I care very little if I am judged by you
or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.
My conscience is clear, but that does not make me
innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.(NIV)" To those
who believe we must still keep certain rules to earn the
favor of the Lord, this is proof of the opposite. This includes
even the Ten Commandments and the tithe. Paul
sums up the glory of the grace of God in this short
statement. Our conscience should be clear, no matter
what we have done, because as long as we are in the Lord
we know that God has f****ven us. We ourselves are not
really innocent but we are seen that way by the Lord because
we are seen as we are clothed with the righteousness of
Christ. This is not a license to sin. If we truly grasp the
truth of the grace of God then we would see that the Lord
will empower us through the Spirit to surpass the requirements
of the old law. Our very motivations will be transformed instead
of us just trying to clean up the outside with the law. The Spirit
changes the inside through grace. The law only dresses up the
outside a little. We fall short with the law. We are victorious
through the Spirit.
