How Jesus Christ really does receive sinners (faith order temple death year)
For the week of September 17, 2006
DON¹T BE DECEIVED
How Jesus Christ really does receive sinners.
To read the Bible in one year, today Read: Joshua 16-18
³And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom;
and the earth shook, and the rocks were split; the tombs also were opened,
and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised² (Matt.
Jesus died with destructive force. The temple-veil tore in two. The earth
quaked. Rocks split open. Tombs emptied. Hell was in upheaval. Does anyone
want to know what Jesus did by dying on the cross? The natural order bore
witness to the forces unleashed when Jesus breathed his last.
The veil was 60 feet long, 20 feet wide, and as thick as a man¹s palm. 300
priests were needed to manipulate the massive curtain. An unseen hand tore
top to bottom. No longer were sinners separated from the Holy God. Why split
the rocks? When Israel was thirsting in the wilderness God said to Moses,
³Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother,
and tell the rock before their eyes to yield its water² (Nu. 20:8) Now
Jesus was the world¹s living water. Tombs are proof positive that sin is
real, and that ³all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.² (Rm.
3:23) On the cross Christ won the right to f****ve sin and destroy death.
Therefore many of those who died in faith were returned to life before the
closing day of the present age as a visible demonstration of the power
resident in the cross of Christ.
Believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you will no longer live
outside the veil. Your spiritual thirst will be quenched. Your fear of death
will meet its match. Jesus Christ really does receive sinners.
