By the way, I'll be up in Ontario in February, and I'm working on getting
Quakes and like-minded folks together during the visit totalk about a
cross-border regional peace initiative, hopefully one that could include some
of the Mennonites that are so plentiful up your way. I'm hoping to get folks
from Rochester on one end, to Toronto on the other.

If the draft does come back, there'll be plenty for such a regional netowrk to
do.

Hell, there's enough for it to do right now.

Well, I live in the heart of the Mennonite community here. So I'm interested
but not exactly sure what it is that I am supposed to be interested in. Mail
me more about your plans.

I don't know mennonites very well, but part of me wonders whether their
response to the suggestions you are making would be along the lines of
"why help American's with their political issues, and perhaps tangentially
the people in Iraq", when we could be helping the people in Iraq directly".
They strike me as largely a-political, with logistical organisations which
tend to be directed at perceived needs.
