What it means to really win over your past: - 12/04/03 (beliefs able time)
What it means to really win over your past:
If a person or organization helps you to win over your past, have
YOU really won? If you are playing a game of chess and you have a
grandmaster standing behind you helping you out every time you get
into a tight spot and you eventually win the game, have YOU really won
the game? No! it was the grandmaster behind you who beat the person
you were playing, not you, you haven't really won anything at all. Who
wants to win over the past and make it to OT and then when it's all
said and done have to give all the credit to Scientology or L. Ron
Hubbard? Who wants to have to say "Well if it wasn't for L. Ron
Hubbard I wouldn't be where I am now"? It leaves you to ask this
question, "What if L. Ron Hubbard never came along and did what he
did, would I have ever overcome my past?" A lot of Scientologists
would say "Well, I guess I wouldn't have ever made it out", which is
bullshit! There's a certain strength you get from accomplishing
something on your own. For example, if you win the world chess
championship with the help of a computer sitting right next to you,
YOU HAVEN'T WON ANYTHING! Yes, if you try to overcome you past on your
own it will be a lot harder and slower going, but the accomplishments
will be ALL YOURS! I would much rather have a small win that I can
take ALL of the credit for than have a big win and have to give credit
to L. Ron Hubbard or the Church of Scientology. The smallest gain done
all by yourself it greater than the greatest gain that you have to
give L. Ron the credit for.
When the day comes that I overcome my past, I want to be able to
stand up and say that I did it all on my own, that's something NONE of
those OSA members will ever be able to say. They will always have that
lurking question in the back of their minds "Would I be where I am
right now if it wasn't for L. Ron Hubbard?". They will never know the
joy that comes from overcoming something from you past, ON YOUR OWN,
WITHOUT AN AUDITOR, L. RON HUBBARD OR THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY'S
HELP, and for that I feel sorry for them. Just like it was once said
in a song, "every form of refuge has it price". The easy way out has
its price tag, the least of which is that you have to give all the
credit to Mr. L. Ron Hubbard.
