This is a book that might interest a number of Spiritualists. It is

I must admit that I wasn't overly looking forward to reading it as I
thought that a guy was unlikely to have a lot of insight into this
topic and added to that he is an academic !

Fortunately this guy has had a number of psychic experiences and
understands a number of esoteric theories/principles in addition to
having done scientific research/studies.

Despite a primarily scientific approach at no time does he lose
himself in jargon, or complex phraseology. His approach tends towards
being conversational and manages to cover both basic, and advanced,
ideas.

It is interesting to see that he covers a number of things that one
might not readily associate with energy draining. One of these being
the effect of past life situations on one's current life.

Lastly, underlying a lot of what he has written is the idea that one
should not be a psychic vampire themselves and should pay attention
to one's own energetic states/progression in life.

The suggestion that one should be a person of principles/morality was
surprising in a book I had thought was going to be, perhaps, boringly
"academic". A welcome discovery however. Overall, a worthwhile read.
