RadiantMatrix <radiant.usenet@filter.radiantmatrix.org> writes As it takes me two hours to come to in the morning I don't have any particular rituals, unless you count coffee, and yawning. If its not to cold, I like to spend a little time or a long time on the veranda at night, usually with a candle or two burning, and some incense, more a time to wind down and think, or to use magick, though more and more its become a nice time to meditate, and its shared these days with Winnie, I usually take a torch and walk to the end of the garden for Winnie to do his nightly ablutions, but that is a new ritual. And quite an enjoyable one to. Though the foray into the garden with a plastic pooper scooper the next day is not a ritual I enjoy very much. But I keep in mind that life is made up of shit and sugar ![]() -- Shez shez@oldcity.demon.co.uk |

writes Oh my that is a nasty one, isn't it, the person being killed is a complete stranger, not you... so its all happening outside of you as it were, Your obvious fear of being shot on campus is not something that can be taken away easily, because it has happened I know in America. I think If I were living in America I would have that worry to. The fact that the shock and the sorrow drive you to jump off a high building that you don't remember getting to very clearly, is part of what I call the falling dream... it usually wakes you up, but you have this awful fear, and your stomach lurches. I think you need to put the threat into perspective for yourself, or your not going to get rid of the nightmare. Your frightened of being shot while your on campus, the fear is strong enough to give you nightmares... Though during the day, you probably don't think about it that much because other things distract you. Have other people been shot on your campus grounds ? If not I think you can assume that your chances of getting killed or of someone with you getting killed is reasonably small, America is a huge country, with hundreds of colleges and high schools, and millions of pupils, teachers staff and so on. Your not the one being shot, its someone with you, a stranger, someone you are getting to know but still a stranger, Your highly unlikely to meet anyone who resembles closely the girl in your dreams because she is a construct of your mind. But the worst thing you can imagine happens to her, she is shot through the head while you are with her, and your scared, and sickened. You are perhaps getting to like the girl and again its the fear of liking someone and something awful happening to them. Something you cant stop, or change. There is a fear of close relationships their as well that you might want to think about to. The relationship though only lasting a walk seems to you to last for weeks, When she kisses you the shooting happens, what are you worried about with close relationships, that they will leave you, hurt you, ? You however are not shot. But your very shocked, # The jumping of the edge bit is something that happens in a lot of nightmares, it often wakes you up, and that is what its intended to do, to get you out of a bad situation into reality where you can deal with the fear. I shouldn't worry about that to much. However your reaction was over the top for a girl you barely knew... do you have a tendency to cling in relationships, are you to dependent on others when you get close.? However the middle bit with the girl is a problem, you do need to talk to someone on campus who will understand your fear, and understand what your dream represents, which is your fear brought to life, and your fears about losing someone if you like them to much. It could be worse.... its certainly a nightmare that can be gently put aside, as you slowly take it apart. Try to remember more of the details if you can, and write them down, if you glimpse the shooter, you might find its a face you know, or again a total stranger, a composite of all your fears about strangers and guns. Nightmares are unpleasant but they have a purpose, they are forcing you to confront an underlying fear, and by doing so you can bring the fear into the open and the dream starts to lose its power. Its not really a dream about a gunman and shooting, though the newspaper and so on seem to be about that, its your fear about violence on the campus, and your fear about rejection, and loss in relationships. -- Shez shez@oldcity.demon.co.uk |
