Default Milksnake waterdish problems (milksnake)

I have a year old milksnake living in a sweatersize Boaphile box with a
decent sized waterbowl and aspen substrate and he bathes and splashes so
much that he makes a mess of the substrate daily. Daily changing of
him and his aspen and his drawer is just a mess! If I offer him the
dish twice a week do you think that's enough? Otherwise, if the
cleaning doesn't kill me, the scalerot he'll get will.

Advice please? Bowl's plenty big, he's just a waterlover.

Hi Barb.

Only fill the bowl half way?

Or switch to newspaper to make the daily substrate
change less arduous.

Removing water, unless absolutely necessary, never
seems like a good idea to me.

I do only fill it halfway. I'll try a QUARTER WAY. Thanks,
Meredith, and thanks Wade, offlist.
