Gizzergaz

I just got a ball python for christmas so I'm not quite sure what normal behaviors are, but my python burrows a lot at night. His temperatures are at 80F on the cold side and 90F on the basking side. He has two hiding places on both sides and he seems particularly fond of the cold side. He doesn't burrow during the day, but at night he moves around his cage under the aspen. Is this a result of bad hiding places, temperatures, or something else? Should I be worried? Does this mean he is hungry? Please Help.
