Trouble feeding a yearling rubber boa (bearded dragon water dragon ball python corn snake melleri)
Hi.
We have a baby rubber who is about a year old. We have had her for two
months. We cannot get her to eat any pinkie mice. We have tried several
times. The person we got her from was been very helpful and giving us
advice on habitat and environment that are conducive to getting her to eat.
We have her in the mid 70s but has been kept at higher and lower
temperatures. She prefers her basking spot under the light where it is high
70s. Although we were told she will not eat at that high a temperature, she
prefers staying there.
We have a 60W blue light on all the time, day and night. We moved her from
the huge 55 gallon into the 30 gallon because we thought she was insecure in
the larger cage. She has several hidey holes, climbing elements, etc. and
always has fresh water.
We soaked her twice (every month) and she shed once.
She is getting a wrinkle down the length of her body... what is this?
She seems okay behavior-wise. She's a great little snake. I just wish she
would eat soon. My daughter is getting very worried and upset over the
situation.
If anyone has any advice on getting her to eat, I would really appreciate
it.
Thanks in advance,
sharon
