If I had to guess, I would say pinhead crickets.

It isn't a frog - it's an alien and it has come to earth to study and then
eat you!

Put it back where you found it and you might survive!

My dad found some frogs or toads in our front yard the other day.
They are less than an inch long. How do I find out what kind of frog
or toad they are? If I buy a frog from Walmart, will they live
together? WHat about a fish?

Thank you,

Go to http://www.google.com and search for photos of toads and frogs. Or describe
it here and someone can give you a better idea. But it's probably a toad
unless you live right near water.

No to the frog from Walmart, and no to the fish. *1. You shouldn't mix
species, *2. toads are not aquatic, and *3. frogs would either drown with
nowhere to get out, or escape the aquarium.

You can also google for "amphibians of Indiana", or whatever
state it is that you happen to live in. Hopefully this will
turn up a list of frogs and toads from your state, possibly
even with pictures.

Default frogs (snake)

If they are full grown at that size, they would be some type of robber
frog. I always loved catching them when I was a kid. My garter snake
also liked it when I fed them to him.

I wouldn't put a Wal-Mart frog or a fish with those frogs if I were you. The
frogs I've seen at Wal-Mart are either African clawed frogs or the dwarf clawed
frogs that stay under water all the time. If your frogs lived on land then they
are probably not a good mix for those underwater frogs.

There's always the spread of bacteria from one frog (or fish to another). This
can make froggies & fishies sick.

If you have or like those Wal-Mart froggies enough or already have please keep
them in a different tank away from the ones your dad found.

Some freshwater fish may be able to live with the Wal-Mart frogs, but you
should have the frogs & fish close to the same size so they don' eat each
other. Some frogs & fish really grow so you may want to read befor putting you
frogs from Wal-Mart & fish together.
