July 2004 Reptiles magazine has the results of their tattoo contest.
There are some SWEET pieces of work in there, and NOT A GODDAMN ONE
gives credit to the artists. Le sigh.
In mailboxes for subscribers now! On newsstands for non-subscribers in
2 months.
First place winner is a 12"x12" piece in the shape of a frog, with a
cool slice of jungle holding 6 different froggies inside. Not exactly
photorealistic, but pretty work. There are a couple of nice
photorealistic pieces. I am agog.
I think my favorite piece from the contest is a Borneo Dayak tribe
Tree of Life (incorporating a pair of lizards). Full backpiece, black
only, stunning. In the pic, the guy has a sailfin dragon on his
shoulder, on a leash, tethered to his stretched earlobe.
