Leopard Gecko feeding and behavior question (gecko)
Hi Guys,
After doing some research, I recently adopted my leopard gecko (as in 4
days ago). he's eating fine, seems healthy, but I have a question..
When I mist the cage (for humidity), he bows up like a cat. I think
he's enjoying it, it doesn't seem like he's trying to run from the
shower, he doesn't hide or move away, but he goes up practically on
tiptoes and spreads his legs, it is really cute, but I wanted to make
sure it wasn't something he was doing to protest. The water's warm
(about 80 degrees), and the tank has a temp gradient from 90 degrees F
in the basking lamp to about 83 on the cooler side, which he seems to
prefer.
Is the bowing up like a cat, normal? He then licks the walls (he's got
fresh water available, changed every day) for water.
Also, how many crickets should he be fed per day? He's a juvenile,
probably about 4 inches long, tail included. He's eaten around 4 a day
the best I can tell, but I want to do the best for him that I can.
