Default odd behavior southern painted turtle (turtle)

Since every one seemes to be talking about turtles, I've got a weird
question. I posted this over at sci bio herp but no answer so far. I
have viewed a strange NEW behavior in my so. Painted turtle. He seemes
to be yawning alot. I'm not sure if he
is actually yawning or not but he seemes to open his mouth wide and
frequently lately. he's a little guy my youngest turtle. He never did

this before and it dosn't seem like agressive posturing. Any ideas.
My kids sware it is sometimes followed by almost a chirp sound but i
tell you i've never heard the sound. just seen him yawning. It is also

not a hunger respondse because i've tryed feeding him when he appears
to do it but he eats no more or less than before.
Got any clues? I'm an experianced turtle owner and i'm stumped. I've
saved more than one turtle from tragity in my life and this is a new
one on me.
Thanks lots i love this group.

Sounds like a cold or possibly a respiratory infection setting
in.Isolate it and raise the temps a little see if that helps. Check for
a runny nose and listen for any wheezing in it's breathing. Might need a
course of antibiotics.
