Default Ouch Poor baby.

No advice for ya, but since my second child has a head like a bowling ball, I feel for her! Hope that's it on eggs from her for a while.

Default Ouch Poor baby. (turtle)

<<<<<<<From zabno22000 <Zabno2 (AT) aol (DOT) com>

This afternoon my big girl laid another egg. Hooray!
The first 2 are duds (still incubating) and she broke egg #3.
This is egg 4. Into the incubator it goes.

Those eggs are just too big for her. She tore a little.
No prolapse, but just puffy-ness and a touch of blood.
I have 3 kids and can totally relate to her discomfort.
Right now she is sitting in a warm betadine sitz bath.
Is there anything else I can or should do for her. I'm
thinking that after the bath I'll put a little antibiotic
creme on it. Other than that, all I can offer her is a
frosty margarita and a plate of tacos. Happy Cinco de Mayo
everyone.

Thanks in advance, Zab>>>>>>>

Wow Zab, how big is the tort? I've not seen that in any of the females here that laid, but I'd think that what you did is about all you could do, and most likely just a soak would have been enough. How big were the eggs?

Julie,
She-Ra (my son named her a few years back, can you tell?) weighs about 950
gms and the eggs are about 22-24 grams each. By the way dad is named He-Man.. But
I guess you probably figured that one out for yourself.

LOL, haven't heard those names in a while Zab.

Those aren't even huge eggs and she's a pretty good size tort. Not huge, but I wonder why she tore like that. I've had 30 gram eggs from a couple of my females. Has anyone else ever had that happen to their torts?
