Default Rainbow Lizard (now T.petersi)

Hello Kendra,

Having kept T.petersi myself for about 5 years in total now, I didn't
forget that these also carry the vague name of "rainbow lizard" on
occasion as well. I just left them out due to how much less
frequently they're imported in comparison to Mabuya & Agama species.

Anyway it's wonderful to see yet another person in the yahoo groups
that has a serious interest in this species! If it weren't for my
current situation, I'd be trying to breed them myself. You certainly
get my praise for your interest in breeding what would be considered
a "cheap import" that you couldn't make any real money from, no
matter how hard you tried..

I currently keep just my lone male Alonzo, and I haven't seen any
around since I bought him almost 3 years ago. Are you a member of the
platedlizards yahoo group? A member there is also interested in
breeding them, and some time ago she informed me about several that
were languishing at a petco in Minnesota. I wouldn't have jumped at
them if I could, but I'm not about to spend $30 each on lizards that
a (repulsive chain) store can't sell. I say if a product doesn't
move, it's supposed to go ON SALE!

Well the issue is they are becoming rare/hard to find so I wouldn't be
surprised if the price jumps. I love this species and am concerned we may never
see anymore.

Well I got my male three years ago $15 Mgrs sale at Petco, he was in very
good heath so I made the purchase. This particular Petco in Nor. CA is kept up
and the animals are seen by a local Vet. There are signs attesting to that
fact also asking customers to report it if they are concerned about any of
the animals. I also recall working as a vet tech, another nearby Petco was a
client of our clinic. So, SOME Petcos are improving.
