Thanks Joe, That link got me there, so at 19 months my girls weigh
133 & 137 grams, so that seems about right you think? I was going to
cut back on there food a little cuz I though they were maybe growing
to fast, thus the slightly quilted shell, but maybe there growing
just fine. Their weight a month ago was 119 & 126, so thats 14 grms
and 11 grms weight gain in a month, is that OK? Thank you, Echo

Its not so much an age thing. What you need to do is measure the length and
compare that to the weight.
I was going to
again it really depnds on growth in length. But 14g in a moth doesn’t seem

Have I got it wrong? I thought they were supposed to put on about 2g
a month, and have been struggling to keep Boris’s growth to that.

Hey Joe, Harmony is 85mm and 133 grms & Sundancer is 85mm & 137
grms, so it looks like there about the same as twin #2 at 15 months,
but mine are 19 months, is that still OK? Should I keep them going
at about 10 grms weight gain a month? ~Echo

Slow growth is best.
I am never all that concerened about weight if the growth in mm is steady
and slow. A large weight gain from one month to the next may just be the
tort not pooping this week.
I try to look at the overall picture. How does the hatchling look and is it
growing? Has it lost weight. Is the weight for its size in the right
The growth record is just a reference point. This year I will track more
hatchlings to get a better “trend”

Thanks Joe, that makes sense. I wish I knew how old Boris is. I was
told he’s around 4 years old, but at 79 mm and 116 gms I think he
might be younger. He doesn’t seem to be growing in mm that much (4 or
5 mm since last June), so I’m glad his weight hasn’t shot up too much.
