Default Need reputable websites for tortoise sale and care (tortoise)

I am looking into buying a baby tortoise--I'd like him/her to spend its
entire life as a family member.
I have exerience with reptiles and I know that a pet tortoise is a life long
commitment--most will out live me and my immediate family!

So, what websites are out there...forums, breeders etc. for me to peruse?
How do I know what Tortoise is right for me? I have been thinking about the
Sulcata, but what other torts are a viable option. I'd LOVE an Aldabra, but
they are probably out of my price range. I have a nice large backyard in
humid Tallahassee. The tort(s) [I'd like to eventually find a pair for
breeding] would stay inside until they get big enough to live in a fenced
area with a heated doghouse nearby.

Anyhow, I am just curious how to go about selecting the right tortoise for
me and my family.

Living in California, I generally go to <http://www.tortoise.org/>. If
you too are in California, the California Turtle & Tortoise Club (whose
Web site that is) operates an adoption service for desert tortoises in
cooperation with the California Department of Fish and Game.
