Default Update on my herp collection (water dragon dragon boa)

Hi everyone

I said I'd do an update so here it is ... I don't want you all to think that
I'm just using this ng to "spam" for support for UK herps these days

Well, I've had an interesting, and very busy, few weeks recently! I don't
know if you recall me mentioning that my Okeetee had laid eggs, well they've
all hatched out successfully ... all 6 of them LOL! ... and are coming along
nicely. Three have shed, two have had their first meal and the rest are in
various stages of shedding. The first hatched 11 days ago and the last one
finally clambered out of it's egg 5 days later.

The morphs have turned out rather interesting too, as I was expecting all to
be of normal appearance and 50% het for amel, as the father is my sunglow,
but I have ended up with one normal and 5 amels!!!!! Obviously my Okeetee is
het for amel too

My other new snakes are Ernie (I'll be renaming him when I find something
more suitable!) , a beautiful Borneo Short-tail Python (or Borneo Blood
Python, as I'm told they are referred to in the UK! ) and Voodoo, a
Mexican Black Kingsnake. I also have a baby Hogg Island Boa which I'll be
picking up next week now she's had her first few meals

Sarah has very kindly hosted some pics of Ernie, thanks hun, so you can see
him here: http://www.fr0glet.org/pix/pets/chloe/ ... and if I ask her
*very* nicely, she may add on some pics of the other new ones too <VBG> ...
I really must learn how to upload a simple page of photos!!!

And now for the most surprising part ... I have finally bit the bullet and
bought myself a T !!!! :-O She's a Bolivian White Knee - Acanthoscurria
insubtilis - and an example can be see here:
http://www.geocities.com/tracey332002/insubtilis.html

Her name is Chaki Moqo and she's a very sweet looking little thing, about
1"-2" across, and made herself at home straight away in her little viv

I'm now on the lookout for more T's LOL! ... in particular, A.versicolor; B.
klaasi; B. emilia and B. boehmi ... so you could say I've been bitten by the
bug (Ha!) which aint bad to say I'm scared of spiders! I've also got a trio
of Imperial scorpions arriving today

I do have some bad news to share though ... my little rosy boa died ( I
had a necropsy done and it turned out she had a virus, so nothing I did
would have saved her anyway, and I'd tried everything possible beforehand.
Thankfully, she was still in quarantine so the rest of my collection is
safe.

I'm now involved with a local herp society and in the process of arranging
new premises for our meetings, so that's very exciting, and there are a few
shows coming up in the next few months that I'll be attending too. I'm also
hoping to get to the European show in Hamm this September, if I can get my
act together and sort out my passport and stuff very soon

I think that's about it for the moment, but things seem to be happening all
the time recently, so watch this space ... Oh, how could I forget ... I'm
also picking up a couple of baby Leo's next week too They have beautiful
markings but I forget which morph now ... some sort of hypo something or
other LOL!

Hoping to sort out pics of everyone shortly for you all to see. I haven't
had much time to keep up on everyone else's developments and collections,
although I do try to scan the ng daily for anything significant occuring,
but I don't recall seeing anything. So I'm hoping all is well with everyone
and all your animals are doing ok.

Oh yes, actually I remember reading about your cham Sarah ... I'm so sorry
to hear she didn't make it hun, but I know you did everything possible to
give her a chance. It's horrible when they don't pull through isn't it. But
think of all the ones you have nursed back to health Which reminds me,
how is Mr Gimpy getting on? I was asked to take in a water dragon with
severe MBD the other week, but I've not heard back from the owners what
they've decided to do with him yet. The poor thing is almost crippled in his
back legs and can hardly walk

Well, I think that's it for now as this post is turning into a full length
essay!!!

Take care everyone

Chloe x
