area several times for extended periods. ------ ++

Ol Mc notes: ~~*And yet with all that study and first-hand experience,
Athy can't give us details about his alleged Egyptian influences on the
Olmecs such as specific references to irrigation sites that show clear
Egyptian (as opposed to any other) signatures. -- ~~
----------
+++ I have given numerous details regarding evidence of Egyptians at
the Olmec sites, such as stone carvings, art, and hieroglyphs. The
irrigation site that I visited was at La Venta. Irrigation is not
obvious after 3000 years; however, the site archy showed us where they
had been able to identify them. Egypt was one of the few possible
sources in the world for such things. Others are ruled out due to
Egyptian details. +++
--------
~~ --- Hell, they didn't even seem to have brought the shadoof, which
was intregal to Egyptian irrigation. -- ~~
--------
+++ Who knows??? +++
---------
~~ --- And where exactly is a platform in Olemc country that is clearly
Egyptian (again, as opposed to any other) features? Or monumental
buildings or sculpture that can only have been introduced by Egyptians?
--- ~~
---------
+++ La Venta happens to have such platforms and a pyramid. There is a
stepped platform there as well as a peaked pyramid. They used sun dried
brick, since they had no local stone. They are all the same style as
the earlier stepped pyramid and platforms of Zoser in Egypt. It is my
understanding that Zoser's people used cast limestone (concrete) bricks.
+++
--------
~~ --- I guess for Larry near enough is good enough. Good thing he
didn't use this approach when he was an engineer. ~~
--------
+++ One can only approach perfect in any science, and certainly in
engineering. The evidence of Egyptians in the Olmec area is very
strong; and there is no evidence supporting any alternate suggestion,
only claims. I don't recall that Ol Mc has put forward any such
evidence of anything. +++
Regards, Larry Athy, P.E.

You mean Djoser, (2687 - 2668 BC), right? And for some reason the
Egyptians brought a form of architecture they hadn't used for about 1500
-1700 years? Pull the other one, Larry.

And I wonder just how like in style they really are:
