Default What about the Neo-Lamarkism idea ?

familiar with plant genomics (which I am not). One difficulty with
seeming lamarckian responses over the short term is that they may simply
reflect a naturally selected ability to respond to environmental
variation by activating different portions of the genome. This could be
especially important in plants, as they are much less able to respond to
environmental variation by migration.
