Can somebody correct me here?

Is it true that most veins of iron-bearing minerals have some kind of a
latent magnetic alignment? I have some electronics magazines that offer
schematics for building various kinds of magnetic field detectors, some
of them employing magnetometers for extra-sensitive detection of static
fields, such as a pole magnet in a nearby room, not just the detection of
a changing magnetic flux, which is usually the case.

I am curious if minor tremors in veins of iron-bearing minerals can be
detected with these kinds of devices, and whether a map of these minor
fluctuations in the magnetic flux can be useful in locating these veins.

No doubt this has already been looked into by many people elsewhere,
and I was wondering what the general consensus is, as it relates to
magnetic 'mapping' as it were.
