FUGAWI GPS Software can now be used to view real-time, animated
weather, presented directly on any map or chart.

All that is required is a copy of FUGAWI GPS Software running on a PC,
an Internet connection, and a subscription to the WeatherPort (WXPORT)
service.

The WXPORT Internet service is available from WeatherGlobe
Technologies of Toledo, Ohio (www.wxport.com). Weather coverage is
available for the continental USA, southern Canada, portions of the
Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam.

FUGAWI software, which allows GPS navigation on a wide variety of maps
and charts, is the first product to provide a real-time weather
display as an overlay. FUGAWI, enabled with WXPORT, shows what the
weather really is, not an out of date forecast.

The system provides Doppler color weather radar imagery in motion
(animation), so one can see where the storms have been, where they are
going, and the actual intensity of the storm. Because WeatherGlobe has
built its own system using raw data via a direct connection to the
National Weather Service, users of FUGAWI software who subscribe to
WXPORT will be able to view conditions less than a minute old. That's
more precise and up-to-date than the "Live" Doppler radar seen on most
TV newscasts.

The principal benefits of WXport enabled FUGAWI Software are:

1. See your GPS position on land or see (as you navigate) relative to
the current weather systems.
2. Load almost any background map at any scale. See the weather
displayed on top of topographic maps, nautical charts, aerial photos
or your own scanned paper maps.
3. See much greater NEXRAD weather radar imagery with full zoom.

Current users of FUGAWI can download a free update from
http://www.fugawi.com/docs/suppupgrades.html, which will enable access
to the optional WXPORT subscription service.

The PC versions of the following products now support the WXPORT
service: FUGAWI 3, FUGAWI Marine ENC, FUGAWI Tracker, and FUGAWI
Military.
