Man's emissions are NOT causing climate change, at least not to the
point where it is worth the upheaval of giving up fossil fuels. Those
who think "alternative" sources and high prices for fuels will stop
climate change are, well, nuts.

Well, that is going a bit beyond our knowledge. We know that mans emissions
are changing the global average temperature. We have evidence from the past
that this has a major influence on climate and therefore makes for climate
changes. We just don't know which ones or how bad.

This is the typical 'back to the cave' extremism strawman.


Non-sequitor. The purpose of changing to hgiher efficiency and renewable
clean energy is threefold of whcih reducing accelerated climate change is
just one. The first is to end dependence on a declining resource, and thus
economic vulnerabiltiy. The second is to prepare to continue technological
civilisation past the point of fossil fuel exhaustion. The third is to
reduce climate change back to it's 'natural' levels rather than endure the
economic disruption and costs of fucking with it.
