It's Annie again....
Hi from Annie, again...
So let me start by describing an easy problem (for you , but not for
me!!!!). A cylinder of 1 in. diameter, rotates at 3600rpm in standard
air which is flowing over the cylinder at 100 ft/sec. So he askes me
now to estimate the lift on the cylinder (per unit length).
The solution that the book gives is : L=-p*Uo*Γ = 0.94 lb/ft
Trying to learn how to use Fluent software , i solved the problem, but
lift coefficient(Cl) converged to 2.13*10 , which lead as to L= 0,85
(slug ft/sec2)=0,85 Lbf . Why do i have this difference?
Please tell me if you know.....
thank you,
Annie
