Default sunday 10-26 and the wolves win again

The Chicago Wolves are on a five-game winning streak. Check out the
highlights.

ROSEMONT, Ill.---The Chicago Wolves came out on top, 5-4, after trading
leads with the Toronto
Roadrunners for 50 minutes at the Allstate Arena last night.

Chicago (5-0-0-1) earned its best start in franchise history with the win.

Toronto (2-6-0-0) lost its third consecutive game.

"I guess it's good when you play bad and still get points," said Wolves Head
Coach John
Anderson. "Big plays at the right time really help when you get beat in
every aspect of the
game. We've been getting great goaltending."

Both teams came out gunning, and, after three-and-a-half minutes, each club
had put two goals on
the board.

The Roadrunners were assessed two early penalties in the first minute of
play, giving the Wolves
a five-on-three opportunity. Wolves defenseman Greg Hawgood fired a shot
that just bounced
behind Roadrunners goaltender Chris Madden and over the goal line for the
1-0 lead at 2:15 of
the first frame.

Madden (0-4-0-0) posted 20 saves in the loss.

But the Roadrunners came right back and evened the score, 1-1, just 15
seconds later at 2:30
when center Mike Bishai took a rebound and flipped it into an open net after
Wolves goaltender
Frederic Cassivi fell to stop the first shot. It was the first short-handed
goal the Wolves
allowed this season.

Cassivi (3-0-0-1) turned aside a season-high 44 shots in the win.

Toronto quickly nabbed its first lead of the game, 2-1, 46 seconds later
when left wing Jamie
Wright scored from a scrum at the top of the crease at 3:16 of the first
stanza.

But the Wolves knotted things up again, 2-2, when center Derek MacKenzie
netted his first goal
of the season, taking a pass from the far corner and burying a shot from the
left circle at 3:34
of the first period.

It took just 45 seconds of the second period for the Roadrunners to take a
3-2 lead when right
wing Tony Salmelainen skated in unopposed and fired a shot through Cassivi's
legs.

Chicago tied it up, 3-3, when right wing Brad Tapper sent a pass from behind
the net to left
wing Eric Healey, who ripped a one-timer past Madden at 3:02 of the second
stanza.

It was that same combination of Tapper and Healey that gave the lead back to
the Wolves. After
a turnover in the neutral zone, Tapper took the puck down the right side
with Healey trailing
and just one defender between them. Tapper drew the defender, then dumped a
pass to Healey, who
duped Madden with a forehand-backhand-forehand move before flipping the puck
into the net at
7:43 of the middle frame.

The Roadrunners tied the game again, 4-4, just before time expired in the
second period when
defenseman Doug Lynch's shot from the left face-off circle sailed through
traffic and over
Cassivi's glove hand into the top right corner of the net at 19:48.

Chicago regained the lead, 5-4, when MacKenzie's shot from the blue line
slipped under Madden's
right leg at 12:32 of the third period.

Oct. 29, at 7 p.m.
