Default Thrashers Hit The Wall

Anyone who is this callous about such a tragic incident should be
embarassed of themselves...and you, sir or madam, are obviously no
hockey fan at all.

Apparently you haven't seen a player fight to reach his dreams in the
NHL and finally be on the brink of realizing them.

Exactly what team do you follow? I can't think of a single team which
is bereft of players like Dan Snyder.

NO team has a player like Dany Heatley, and although I'm furious at
his lack of care in this really reckless incident, the lasting affects
of this accident will be tragic on him, even if the physical effects
fade.

You're a pathetic excuse for a person and a hockey "fan." I'm an Avs
fan and I'd be ashamed to have you as a fan of my team. I bet fans of
every other team in the league can say the same. Go to hell!

And my condolences to members of the Thrashers family and fanbase.
I've lost friends in car accidents who were young and this is hitting
close to home for me. This is very tragic.

Hey bro I'm an Av's fan too...small world.....I have no sympathy for drunks
that smash their Ferraris...Just another drunk hitting a wall at 80mph to
me.....Oh the poor poor hockey player boohoo....They live 10 lives for every
average persons life and we're supposed to have special compassion for some
stranger that gets drunk and crashes his car...I think if Heatley survives
they should just shoot him before he climbs behind the wheel again and kills
somebody....No wonder insurance premiums are off the chart......I'm sure you
get down on bended knee and pray for all the impaired drivers to make it so
they can go do it again don't you? Or is that reserved for hockey players
only?....Some sports personalities are poor excuses for human beings as we
all know.

Watched Gretzky his entire career.

Lack of care...hahahahah...he was pissed out of his mind driving 80mph in
his Ferrari...What he couldn't afford a cab?

Yes it's tragic....we want to see our successful leaders fail so we can
truly empathize with them ...that's what tragedy means and is all
about....the destruction of the leader or icon humanizes them...and brings
them to our level or sometimes below it.....You actually got that part
right... Now go back on your couch and eat your dingdongs.

How can alcohol be ruled out when he clearly had alcohol in his
blood?...Instead of .02 it was more like .2...Why would a sober person drive
at 80mph in a 30 mph zone?
I guess when the blood tests are complete in two weeks we will know the real
story concerning impairment....How did they get the .02 rating?....His jaw
was busted up so he obviously didn't blow that..Where's the reference?

news:<nlkeb.40437$O85.13457@pd7tw1no>...

it is tragic, and humor (however callous) is a common way many of us deal
with events such as this. it is, after all, only usenet.
i AM a thrashers fan (by default) and a novice hockey fan (claiming major
ignorance being essentially raised in a non-arctic region). i think heatley
should be ok to play ...after all: he's tough
only if he can get past the legal trouble. doesn't seem to bother NBA or
NFL felons.
my condololences to you for your losses. in a just world, none would die
young.

Actually NOT. The blood tests are still out. There
was no alcohol found in the car. If there was any in
them, we don't know it yet.

Cheers to you for telling it like it is!

I am so ****ing sick of people getting all politically correct and making
excuses to avoid responsibility. We all make mistakes. Most of us have all
driven drunk. Most of us have been lucky what happened to Heatley/Snyder
didn't happen to us. Just hope he learns from it.

I hate seeing people dance around the issue and trying to dress it up to
make it pretty. It's ugly. It's as ugly as Heatley's mouth. Heatley could
even see jail time despite all his injuries.

Sounds like he was speaking about society in general. If you are the
exception I would surmise:

You don't consume alcohol and/or
You don't drive and/or
You're in denial.

Odds are that if you consume alcohol and drive you have at one time or
another driven drunk.
