Taking nothing away from Webb -- Willis does have that huge funky herky
jerky delivery that's just a ton of fun to watch.

Sometimes it's not the steak, it's the sizzle.

In addition to his unique windup, high leg kick, and he's kind of personable
too, which has already been commented upon, media is getting a bit of mileage
out of the fact that he was a "throw in" in a trade between the Cubs and
Marlins.

I also think age has alot to do with it.
Willis is 21
Webb is 24

At least Lou Brock wasn't a "throw-in"*.

* more like a "throw-away" when one considers Ernie Broglio's record
with the Cubs.

Aside from what everyone else has mentioned, 2 other factors loom in why
Willis has gotten more press than Webb. One is the east coast bias. Since
the Marlins play in the eastern time zone his highlights are usually
available for the 10:00 Baseball Tonight(est) and nightly newscasts, while
Webb's games aren't finished until most of the east coast is asleep.
Another undeniable factor is the race issue.
