I found this on a forum.
"Išve been staying out of this, but it is getting really annoying and it is time to rant. I don't know what George will do, but I know what Yankees fans will do. They will tell you how great they are. They always tell you how great they are. After their run in the 90šs, they told you how great they were, but you had to take it, because, well, that was a great team. The players played the game the right way and they were led by the classiest manager in sports. After they choked to the Diamondbacks, they still told you how great they were, even though (at the time), we didnšt think a team that good could possibly choke like that. In 2002, re-loaded with the steroid twins and the rest of Steinbrenneršs Hessians, they still choked when the Angelšs came to town. What did the Yankee fans do? Tell you how great they were. In 2003, after a great series against the Sox, the Yankees didnšt even show up for the World Series and choked to another expansion team. I really thought they would shut up then and show some humility; but what did they do? They told you how great they were. In 2004, the Yankees perpetrated the worst choke in the history of American sports. They had the Sox down 3 games to zip in the 9th of game four, with the best reliever in the history of the game on the mound, and they blew it. Then they followed with the same thing in the 8th the next day, and blew that. In game 6, Yankee fans proved how much class they had when the NYPD had to don riot gear and take to the field to keep the fans from coming over the walls after their candy-assed 3rd basman tried to cheat and was caught. They proved to the world that they were in a league of their own, just Yankee fans and Raider fans in their own class. The team didnšt even show up for game 7. The most humiliating choke job in the history of sports, and what did the Yankees fans do? Tell you how great they are. In 2005, they bowed out of the play offs like they were embarrassed to be there. And the Yankee fans still told us how great they were. In 2006, with the highest payroll in the history of sports, and the highest inequity in the history of sports, they continued their string of chokes. With payroll and luxury tax topping $240 M, which is twice their American League East rivals and three times the Tigers, they couldnšt hit, catch, or pitch. And after not showing up for the big series for a sixth year in a row, what do the Yankees fans do? They keep telling you how great they are. OK, just because you are apparently too stupid to figure this out, Išll explain it for you one time. The reason everybody hates you is not because the team is so good, it is because the fans are so arrogant they canšt even recognize failure. Fans around the country are pleased when their teams do well and show pride, and sad when they do poorly and show humility. That is called sportsmanship. (See St. Louis for an example of how it is done right). In New York, fans rub it in your face when they do well, and they tell you how great they are when the team ****s. That is just annoying. Stupid and annoying. The Yankees have the biggest advantage in the history of sports and have choked 6 years in a row. It is time for you to shut up and go away. You are no longer Murderšs row; you are the Atlanta Braves of the American League. The rest of us are busy enjoying two great baseball teams full of talented players who want to win and fight it out for the right to go to the World Series. It is time for the fans from Detroit and Oakland to show some pride, it is time for the fans for baseball to enjoy what should be a great series of old-fashioned baseball, and it is time for Yankees fans to shut up and go away. We donšt care how many championships your fatheršs and grandfatheršs teams won, you **** now, you have ****ed for 6 years, and you will continue to **** because your team has no soul and your fans have no class. Now please go away. -- Please post and reply to sytech@yahoo.com |
