Spartans Improving? Or PSU Just Bad?

I was using the snowblower and came in to see a 20-8 MSU lead. Then
they started to play like we've seen, losing the ball, not getting
rebounds, until PSU was within 5. The Kitties also settled into the
game and made some 3's during that stretch. Torbert slashed in to make
a 35-25 MSU halftime lead.

The Sparties went on a 22-11 run in the second half, playing like you
expect for an Izzo team. They rebounded, scored in transition, and
Anderson shut down PSU's 7-foot Jagla. Then they controlled the ball
and didn't let PSU back at all.

Penn State is better - maybe they will finish 7th or 8th in the B10.
The Michigan game Saturday will show much - it is in East Lansing.

You have got to be kidding. I watched their game against Pitt and I have
to say that PSU is one of teh worst teams I have ever seen - they
trailed 32-7 at one stage and had 11 points at the half! While Pitt is
indeed a good team that's still incomprehensible...

Insufficient information. Possible false dichotomy.
And the engines are already at 110%.

I do think Penn State is improving under DeChellis, but they are
definitely still going to have their share of clunker games, so there's
not much to say on this one.

I'm out of beer, and the liquor cabinet's getting
mighty empty. Thank $DEITY I can stagger
across the street to Binny's. But can I get back

If you lose to Michigan at home, I'd plan on
staying at Binny's for a few months. You won't
want to risk waking up sober this season.

The one truly horrifying part about living in
Durham is that they don't have bars in the
usual sense. There's some stupid rule about
having to sell more food than alcohol (what,
pretzels and peanuts don't count?!). Granted
I usually go to private clubs and hate being
among the peons, but sometimes I wake up
in strange parts of town and it'd be real handy
to have a bar at every corner.

The thought of drinking gin while watching
other people eat *food* just puts me off my
appetite. A bit of a scary thought, actually.
