Stick a pitch fork in this team, they are listless. A major shake up needs
to happen, possibly at the captain level.

I agree (see my other post titled 'Pathetic'). You think Thornton
should lose the 'C' or you think Thornton should be traded
(B-offensive and B+/A-defensive player)?

Losing the C is fine. Trading him is fine as well. I just couldn't
care less who is on this team as long as they present some consistency
and wins. Trading Thornton for anyone short of a Naslund or Bertuzzi
would be a bad move, and that is not about to happen. Even as much as
I loathe Thornton at times, giving up 100 pts for a defensive minded
center with 55-60 pts just wouldn't jive.

Did not the Bruins give up 95 points per year with Allison? because he has
no nads??? Back into the same circle. It is simple spend some dough. Get a
couple of defensmen ala Leetch, Pronger, Blake, Morris, MacInnis, Lidstrom.
Guys that lead and move the puck well, see the play develop.

Then you will see how well this team would play....AS long as the NJD win
with the plan they have I don't think the Bruins will spend any dough.

Uninspired

Mentioning Allison brings up the fact that beyond the d-man, a serious
need for a #2 center. I didn't enjoy Stumpel much, but that's another
hole left with that trade for a draft pick. Bergeron and Rolston are
very good players, but we don't have an experienced pivot beyond
Thornton who can do much of anything consistently.

Don't know what your driving at.

1. Allison did get 95 points one year...and far from that many others
[I know many were injury shortened].

2. The Bruins ended up with the better 1/2 of that trade, in the
opinion of most.

3. Getting the D and leadership that is needed is more than spending
money - there has to be a deal with players.
