OT: Bush Makes Surprise Visit to Baghdad
In article <3fc8b9fe$0$137$3926cdf1@news.isoc.net>, Locutus says...
The "Right to PURSUE HAPPINESS" is the most misconstrued right. If we have no
hill to climb, then there is nothing to pursue. Poor Goodman is of the idea
that all wealth is at the expense of another. If that was the case, I'd be one
of the more oppressed persons in the United States! ;-)
If you have worked firsthand (as I have) with agencies that assist the "poor"
then you see that the definition is broad and has more political than practical
use. Most agencies that I have worked with have more reinforced than changed
bad behavior. Behavior that, in most cases, led to a person's poor position in
life. Because of that, I now support the Salvation Army more than any other
agency. They require effort on the part of the recipient.
On the bright side, I bet he's getting an "A" in his classwork!
