Default Two point conversions...

You are correct, I've been arguing this point all day. However,
Carolina fans don't want to believe they lost the Superbowl due, in
large part, to bad coaching decisions. If Fox had just went for a one
point conversion after Carolina's second touchdown (and subsequently,
after their third touchdown), this game more than likely would have
ended up tied 31-31 at the end of regulation. The revised sequence of
scoring in the fourth quarter:

14:55 NE TD Antowain Smith runs to the right for 2 yards (Adam
Vinatieri kick) 10 - 21

12:48 CAR TD DeShaun Foster runs to the left for 33 yards (John
Kasay kick) 17 - 21

7:12 CAR TD Jake Delhomme passes to Muhsin Muhammad to the left for
85 yards (John Kasay kick) 24 - 21

2:58 NE TD Tom Brady passes to Mike Vrabel down the middle for 1
yard (Adam Vinatieri kick) 24 - 28

1:16 CAR TD Jake Delhomme passes to Ricky Proehl down the middle for
12 yards (John Kasay kick) 31 - 28

0:09 NE FG Adam Vinatieri kicks a 41-yard field goal 31 - 31

Game goes into overtime, and Carolina has a shot to win.

IF IF IF
My god if all the if's had happened, there would have been a totally
different football game by halftime........and that could be on either team.

If the field goal kicks had been good
If the fumble hadn't been ruled incomplete
If the Brady hadn't thrown that interception

If the two pointers had worked
If the Panthers offense had opened it up earlier
If Kasey's kickoff hadn't gone out of bounds

IF IF IF
Stop trying to make excuses and suppositions, you weren't there nor should
you be there to make any of those calls, judgments, decisions.
No one won or lost a game because of what didn't happen, or should have
happened. Some Team won a game, and some Team lost a game because of what
happened for real.
Reality sometimes doesn't agree with what you would like for an outcome.
Deal with it, and stop the woulds, coulds, shoulds, and above all the IF's

But the guy had a good point. All the "ifs" you mentioned were plays on the
field. I agree anything can happen there. I also agree you can't control the
refs or a quick whistle. The coaching decision to go for 2 was not a play
on the field though. It is something within the coaches control. I knew
beforehand it was not smart, and so did the broadcasters.
