Default Something fresh from PFT

http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

I wonder why they have such a hard on for us.

KORDELL "LOOKS LOST"
One of our Chicago moles (packer fan janitor) has confirmed for us that
folks high within the Bears' organization are beginning to recognize that
the acquisition of quarterback Kordell Stewart was a mistake.
Very recently, a senior member of the front office was overheard conceding
that Kordell "looks lost" on the practice field.
In contrast, rookie Rex Grossman quietly is impressing the coaching staff
and the front office. Word is that, next to Kordell, Rex looks like a
seasoned vet.
The thinking is that Grossman could end up giving Kordell a run for the
starting job in 2003.

I don't think that. I doubt seriously that Jauron is going to put his
career in the hands of a rookie QB at any time this season unless both
Chandler and Kordell are injured. I'm not saying I entirely agree but
who can blame him after McNown? Besides, it might be nice to see
Grossman get a full year on the sideline.

I think its highly unlikely that the Bear coaching staff is
considering playing Grossman at any time this year.

Tommy,
Unless they do get Shaun King, Grossman will play 8 or 10 games this
year.
Chandler is as brittle as a Jay's potato Chip!

That is entirely possible but do consider this. Stewart has been
virtually indestructible throughout his career. If Chandler plays, it
could well be because Stewart isn't doing the job.

So now, Chandler goes down and you're **** Jauron. Do you put in the
rookie or do you play Stewart even though he's already lost the job
once and shown he can't do it? For you or I, this would be a tough
decision. For Jauron, I'm convinced its no decision at all. He'll
play the veteran just as he did last year with Leon Johnson. I think
Stewart will have to go down or we won't see Grossman. But if that
happens, yeah, we'll see allot of him, no doubt.

I'm going to take the opportunity to say once again that I really
don't like our QB situation with Chandler at all this year and I blame
Angelo. Stewart might be Jauron's boy but with a rookie at #3 that
they like don't want to see play, they need a little more than a
"potato chip" at #2 and that's Angelo's decision. He's making himself
look very bad.

Tman,
I think it all has to do with when, and what our record is at the time.
Coach **** is NOT in fear of his job.
The McCaskey family loves him.
I don't think they have ever warmed up to Jerry Soprano, at least not
yet.

Did the McCaskey's love **** before or after the 13 win season he pulled
off?

Funny how that works.

[snip]

I believe that before the season gets to this point, either Stewart will
have a handle on the offense as presented, or they will have simplified it
to meet the needs of the quarterback. Ultimately they will do what they
have done in the past -- install the offense in stages.

I also don't necessarily believe all of the rumor mills that are saying that
Stewart is not getting it. I know a guy, who has a brother, who's neighbor
is the second cousin of a guy who knows this kid who shags punts for the
Bears. Even though this kid is only 14, he says that --- and I quote ---
"Kordell has the goods."

Need I say more? (Tongue firmly placed in cheek guys....

Just my two cents

I'm telling you truly. I'm certain you've read **** Jauron wrong.
Unless you're trying to tell me both Kordell and Chandler will be hurt
by then, it isn't going to happen. No matter how bad Kordell is,
whether its Sept. 7 or Dec. 7, Jauron's not going to play Grossman
unless Kordell and Chandler are both hurt. There's just no way its
going to happen otherwise. We'll see who's right.
