I was just curious as to how everyone feels is going to happen this season,
will it be another "rebuilding year", or will the bears have their shit
together come August?

We'll have a better team, but with some growing pains. It
will be a respectable rebuilding year, maybe enough to win the
division in a tight race.

The smart money says we beat the Pack at least once this year,
and twice a year after that.

Packers Fans always have the same comments..."will it be another rebuilding
year for the Bears?" You will see this year that the Bears finally got
there shit together and will be putting a serious whooping on your Packers!

New coach, system and 5 great pickups in free agency...we will have a KC /
Rams offense that the Pack won't be able to stop. Not to mention--new
Defense system that incorporates speed and turnovers.

Don't be surprised if we take both games this year.

FOP:

I think so far Angelo has done some interesting things in free agency, and
Smith and his coaching
staff have set a new tone to practice and the tenor of the team. I'm not
certain we know how that
will translate to play on the field though. Generally speaking the Bears are
a young team, so the uptempo
pace of the team should play well with them. I also think, but don't know,
that Grossman's off-season
attitude of spending a lot of time studying how the new offense works will
make a huge difference. His sense
of responsibility to the team is refreshing.

So, no... I don't see this as a rebuilding year. I think the NFC North
should be a great fight this year, with a
ton of questions. Can the Vikings put a whole season together without
imploding? Is Favre at the end of
his career? Will the Lions not **** so bad? Can the Bears shift from slow
motion play to playing like their hair
is on fire?

So, I think it'll be a fun season all the way around.

I look at it this way.

It can't be any worse than watching Jauron talk, Shoop run the offense and
Blache call plays that get our defence run over on the way to the goal line.

I know we'll be trying to WIN this year rather than the bs of being "in the
game"

Amen...

No longer will punting be considered as a positive offensive strategy... it
will be the earmark
of the offense's failure to move.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Not that I haven't tried. And
tried. And tried. For 5 years, oh how I tried.

Hey Jim, (~SAM~) I wasn't trying to put down the Bears in any way, and I
never compared them to the Pack, so take a deep breath, and exhale. I was
only asking about what you guys felt about this year's team. Not trying to
cause a Packers-Bears war. We do that every day we play Madden, and I think
we know how that goes...
Anyone who's been a TRUE Bears fan through the thick and thin, as in
before 1985....uh hmmm, would agree that you guys have had a pretty rough
road, and a lot of those years have been called rebuilding years by Jerry
Angelo, that's all I meant by that. The way I look at it, atleast you're
not Rams/Vikings fans.

heh, Nice try. No need to throw a fit because Jim read between the lines.
Truth hurts huh?

What exactly did you expect Bear fans to say?

HINT: There is always optimism when going into a new season. Especially
when the team replaces the headcoach or GM.
