Nothing new about losing the first two games of a series on the road.
As was very often the case, the Hawks improve during the series - they
adjust to their opponent.
The Blackhawks will win on Sunday at home.
After losing all those good players (Buff, Ladd & Co) it's great to have
someone like Smith in the team.

Let's go Hawks !!!

Hello Bud,

Admire your positive attitude but the Hawk need to pick it up if they
are going to beat Canuck. Not throwing in the towel by no means but
after last night my confidence dropped a few points on the Richter
scale. Non-the-less, I remain,
guardedly optimistic.

By the by, has anyone heard the status of Bickell. Looked nasty.
Did you see the look on Duncs face when he seen the cut.

So have you thrown in the towel yet, Rich?

How do you fix this team? My first step would be to see how much
I could get for Kaner. Actually, the first thing I'd like to do
would be to give him a mandate for the next game to get in a
fight. That he likes to remind people that he's never been in one
is kind of ridiculous. It seems like all it takes to get him off
his game is one good hit and then he turns into a pansy. He's a
great talent, but there's something missing that is keeping him
from getting to the elite level.

Yep, hate to admit but I conceded. Hawk are much too soft to go deep
into playoffs with this team.
In hindsight (no brainer here), losing Buff, Ladd, Eager, Sopel,
Burrish... is the downfall. Couple that with the fact they were
replaced by Pisani, Johnson, Frolic, Dowell and half of the Ice Hogs
says a lot for team dynamics and which way they were going. Lost way
too much toughness and aquired way to many softys.
The cap issues we all know about but it seems Bowman should have been
looking ahead to playoffs and *attitude* when he made his moves. Easy
from here but most of the players I would have liked to see last year
were impossible for the same reason. Cap space.
Looking a bit further back, when Tallon failed to file the proper
waiver paperwork which ultimately got him fired and started this
snowball rolling is the real culprit. That boneheaded move cost the
Hawk close to ten million in cap.

The front office needs to get really creative this off season or Hawk
will once again be mired in mediocrity.
<See list below sig>

HAWK IN SEVEN !!!!
WOOHOO.

Cheers,

Look for a helluva game on Tuesday. The 'Hawks will be playing for the only
thing more important than the Stanley Cup.

Hawk are much too soft to go deep
