Thoughts? Why can't the Cubs keep up with the Astros? The injuries
to Oswalt and Kent should have slowed them down but now they have
won something like 8 out of the last nine? What is wrong with the Cubs?
Is Sammy Sosa just another player? Why can't he put this team on
his back?

Oswalt is back and won tonight. Kent is back...with the rest of the
answer to your question: Biggio, Bagwell, Berkman, Hidalgo, Blum (the
third baseman the Cubs lack, OPS of .740, switch hits) and Billy Wagner,
the closer the Cubs lack. The Astros have a much better lineup than the
Cubs. I think they have a better mgr. They have momentum. I think they
have a positive attitude, which is the polar opposite of the Cub's at
this point. I think the Cub players think about the injury to Patterson
and that nothing was done to obtain a player for center. I think the
players think about the Jose Hernandez acquirement as a big nuthin'.
St. Louis is my guess for division winner, though. I think they'll pull
away shortly. Just a hunch.
