Tough Loss
I didn't like Konerko's reaction after he popped up for the last out, but he
played a good game.
As a whole, this isn't looking good at all. Losing this series to Cleveland
and then expecting abysmal attendance forthcoming with the Twins in town,
doesn't look like a good prospect. If they can fend off Cleveland and the
Twins and then go to Cleveland for the last three games and both gain
playoff spots, it most certainly would be an exciting year. Especially
considering the possibility of even another series during postseason with
Cleveland. It would actually be somewhat historical if they both claimed a
playoff spot while playing in Cleveland.
The Sox are going to have to start taking the advantage of the leads,
otherwise playing from behind might just end their season, rather quickly. I
didn't like the home plate umpiring calling pitches that certainly were
strikes, but that's how the umpire calls it. Good pitching and winning
depends on good calls by the umps. He even "preferred" to make the check
swing calls, rather than by request of the catcher. He was - as far as I was
concerned overbearing and dictating to much of the game..
I look forward to tomorrow's game. I'm concerned about the attendance during
the late season's midweek games, but I expect the White Sox to show up
prepared and pissed.
