I almost feel bad doing this but... my check cleared my bank July 8th. I
sent you an email July 28th asking if the book shipped. It's now August 5th
and I have no word from you.

What's the story? Post it here so others (I presume) will know what to
expect from you too.

Seems to me if a check cleared the bank on 7/8, waiting till 7/28 was about
as much courtesy as was necessary. For a check to clear on 7/8, he probably
received it around the end of June.

I like BlackJack's posts, but when your offer to sell something, the rules
just changed. First off it is ship product before or about the same time as
you deposit the check. Second is don't put it off for 3 more weeks. Third
is when you f*** up, 'fess up to it like a man and reply to him. Everybody
makes mistakes, it's how we respond to them that reflects our character.

--Jim ==> Don't remember anybody pounding JimboCT from CPR or the cue
lotteries (and he wasn't even making anything off of these)

Well just from observing Blackjack in this forum over the years and watching the progress of his
book I suspect his isn't a professional publishing operation and some inexplicable delays might be
anticipated. Maybe he should have waited to cash the check, but then again maybe he expected a
shipment from the printer that didn't arrive. He should explain the delay to you, but you should
remember you're not dealing with Random House here.
BTW, if you don't get him here you might try "The Monk's" forum too. He also posts there somewhat
regularly.

You're on the right track (as usual) Jim.

I sent the check the middle of June with the understanding that I wouldn't
expect shipment until my check cleared. I corresponded with David the end
of June and he said the check had been deposited and he expected it to clear
any time (and that he would be shipping the book directly). I checked my
account the middle of July and saw the check had cleared 7/8, saw Sam had


I've been the picture of patience here.

David emailed me in response to this thread saying he'd been unexpectedly in
and out of surgery the last few weeks for a heart attack he'd had mid-June
and that his daughter would ship the book tomorrow. Well.... I guess I'll
learn to trust my instincts one day :O\
