Default From Hutchinson to Henson ?

Drew Henson to give up on baseball career and weigh NFL options.

I watched him play at Michigan and thought he should have never played
baseball.

Rumor has it that the Texans will be seeking a #1 draft pick
for his services ...

And Houston owns his rights....so why the subject line? Not a chance
in hell of him coming to Dallas.

Henson is an absolute fool if he walks away from $12mil FREE money,
BTW. Baseball contracts are guaranteed...football contract are not.

LOL...they can keep seeking....Ain't gonna happen, and THEY can't
afford to sign him. IF Drew is serious (I doubt it) Houston better
start thinking about a 3rd or risk losing him to next years draft.

That does not mean the Cowboys couldn't trade for him. Which by the way
is what Houston wants to do. I think Jones has gotten close to his fill of
baseball players/quarterbacks. Basically it was a rhetorical question.

Yeah. I would agree. But if you can't cut it you can't cut it. And the
Yankees
will find a way to cut him and their $12m obligation. Besides, he may be
watching Hutchinson and thinking that it would be better to take the few
million
he has now and try to reclaim his football ability at 23 years of age.
After all
this is when most Div-1A players start their NFL career if they were
fortunate
to be drafted and make the team.

Well...Henson almost certainly IS the best prospect of the three. I
sure can't see Dallas offering up a #1 pick to earn the right to
overpay yet another QB prospect.

The can cut him. They can NOT cut their obligation, though. That's the
beauty of guaranteed contracts....The Orioles are STILL paying Albert
Belle ;-) (Sorry Bear)

Only way I can see it happening is if Henson agreed to a buyout....I
just can't see him walking away from THAT much money, just to play
football where one hit can ruin his earning potential for the rest of
his life.

I suppose he "could" try to pull a Deion and play both, but I'd be
willing to bet George was smart enough to include a no football clause
in that huge contract.

IIRC, Steinbrenner gave him a pretty sizeable bonus to sign in the
first place. If Henson is smart, then he handled that money well, and
has the financial freedom to do whatever he wants.
