The altitude in Denver, sure, but I was in a more general mode when I wrote
that. I know, a bit ambiguous.


That's another one of my rituals. I'm probably the only one in the stadium
that goes nuts when they lose a toss. I also yell "heads" or "tails" right
before the toss. If someone would just post the coin toss statistics for
each game I'd have a better than 50-50 chance of getting it right.


Yeah, me too. It's been better this season, on the whole. The home opener
was the loudest game in the joint so far and the loudest I can remember for quite some time.

I love the new joint for a lot of different reasons but I miss Mile High an
awful lot sometimes. It's not just the Elway years either. One of my
favorite games is still the one against Green Bay in Mile High back in '99.


I honestly can't wait for it. Adam made a pretty good point about
indications that he hasn't quite got the offense yet. He does great for the
scripted plays and then tends to go downhill after that. CBS even showed a
graphic of his QB rating dropping as the game progressed. Still a bit wait
and see but I think he's shown enough so far to be worthy of the contract he got.


I honestly didn't know much about him. The comebacks were pretty heavily
covered by the media though.

Yup. I think the fans, in general, are waiting for something good to happen.
It's like when Jake arrived the finger was pulled out of the hole in the
damn. Will the next piece that breaks free cause the chain reaction that
causes it to finally burst? Hang on. We could be in for one hell of a ride
the next few years.
