How about a leisurely drive down the coast? There's a lot to see, you
could spend a coupla days in LA, I'll show you some sights the tourists don't see.

Not big into road trips. Had a bad experience with one six years ago
and I never had the desire after that. :-) What I'll probably end up doing
is parlaying it into a series of trips to Colorado like I did last year.
Though how far is LA from the Bay Area?

Mapquest says it's 1,145 miles from Seattle to Los Angeles, estimated
driving time 18-1/2 hours. That's 62 mph. You could do that in two
days, three with lots of stops for sightseeing, one if you just wanted
to get there. I drive straight through to Denver, including stops, in
about that time, but I have a pretty heavy foot.
