Take this into consideration: as scary good as the Bucs are on defense,
Gruden is an OFFENSIVE minded coach and they are going to improve on offense
this season and over the next few years (as long as he is coach). That
makes the Bucs potentially great for a loooong time, folks.

Two words: free agency.

If they can't keep or hire the guys that can execute their systems, it's
over in a year or two. But they look as strong as anyone has recently to
continue to win (albeit boring) games.

That was one of the most boring MNF games I've ever seen.
I want those 3 hours of my life back.

We thought all the MNF games during 2000 were *free*. As it turns out, we
have to pay for them by watching defensive stalemates in 2003.

Hope it's a crackpot theory. Pretty sure it'll be destroyed by week 3.

Well, the penance was worth the payout....i.e. Joe Jurevicius' catch for a
TD....

Keep this in mind..it takes the Bucs at least 3 games to hit their offensive
stride (and that's in a GOOD year)....

This update from a Bucs fan

Both of those TD catches were beautiful. Not bad for the #3 WR on the team.

Brad Johnson's execution of the offense in the second half was textbook
WCO. He's a very underrated QB in this league.

Not if you're a plain football fan. I'd given up on the game by that
point.

I'm not knocking the Bucs... if the Broncos won another Super Bowl I
wouldn't care how boring the games were to other fans.

No kidding? I loved the game. Defensive execution at its finest. Watching
two really good defenses do their thing in totally different ways is
fascinating.

Yeah, it's interesting for awhile, but for me it's not four quarters'
worth of interesting. Even when I was watching I was flipping back
and forth to "For Love or Money 2", and it's not like the girl was
even that hot.
