I know there some fellow Los Angelinos here (Fillard), so you might
be interested in how the Denver Post's idiotic Mark Kiszla rips
Los Angeles' own Lisa Guerrero. I thought he was being a bit harsh
on someone only a few weeks on the job and understandably nervous.

Wow what a special kind of jerk that guy is.
I have not even seen the object of his scorn yet but can't help thinking
"was there nothing else to write about?"
If Kisla was offered the MNF sideline job he would take it in an instant.
What should Guerreo have done? Rejected the offer for the job stating that
she is too well built and too poorly brained to do it? You may say MNF could
have chosen better, but a personal attack like this is totally
unprofessional and idiotic.
It is interesting that he vividly remembers his encounter with her but
admits that she would have no reason to remember him at all.

Me, I gotta go with Kizla on this one. After the Thursday debut I
dubbed here "just *awful*". That's as charitable as I care to be. I
would rather see Madden in the lingerie spread Kiszla mentions than
listen to this bim for an entire season.

Lisa Guerrero has excellent credentials as a sports journalist ( although
the idea that anyone who covers sports can be called a journalist is
troubling ). She hosted the San Diego Chargers equivalent of the Denver
Broncos Huddle and has been a sports reporter in both the nation's second
largest television market and nationally for Fox.

You hit the nail on the head. Kiszla appears to despise Guerrero simply
because she is way out of his league both personally and professionally,
and he is lashing out impotently at her the only way that he can.

Fillard, I'll let you in on a little secret here... there are those of us
who really dig Lisa... and uh, well... as far as I know, none of us have
ever actually LISTENED to her. I think TRoaR was in fact surprised to find
out that she actually speaks at all. Trust me, she has abundant talent
with the sound turned off.

I'll agree it seems kind of odd, given that this was opening weekend.
I'm sure he could have found a player to diss. OTOH the question about
Laverneous (sp) Coles says, if nothing else, that she should have
worked a couple more preseason games. I was embarrassed for her, and
not just that one time.
