Portis Article

The article fails to capture all the humorous moments of the press
conference. Unfortunately, 9 News didn't put it up on their site. The verbal
jousts between Clinton and Rod were classic. Bottom line? Looks like at
least Clinton and Rod are having fun. From the article:
"He's just like, 'Yeah, I had more catches than you today,"' Smith said. "To
him, it's always a competition. It's always a game. That's why you always
see the little smirk on his face. He's always trying to find an angle to get
you. If you have more catches, then he's going to have a better yards per
catch."
Portis turned 22 on Sept. 1, but he's already beginning to carry himself
like a veteran.
"He's matured a lot more from last year," Smith said. "I see him out there
coaching other running backs, and I'm like, 'What are you, like 16, 17?' But
he gets that from seeing Sharpe and myself and Ed and some of the older
guys.
"He has a good feel for the offense, and he knows what he has to do."
Asked if he's on his way to becoming the Broncos' leading receiver this
season, Portis laughed.
"I wouldn't say that, but I'm going to keep on making side bets with Rod
that I'm going to have more catches than him."
